Coming Events & Activities
1. Guest Speakers – Sunday, May 10
We are pleased to welcome guest speakers from the Belleville Pregnancy & Family Care Centre, who will share information about their programs and the upcoming Baby Bottle Drive. A display is set up in the Parish Hall for this initiative.
2. Confirmation Sunday – May 17
On Sunday, May 17, the Bishop will be visiting to celebrate the confirmation of two parishioners at the 10:30 am service.
3. Rummage & Bake Sale
Friday, May 22 – 5:00–7:00 pm
Saturday, May 23 – 9:00 am–12:00 pm
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – Sign-up sheet is now available in the Parish Hall.
As you do your spring cleaning, please consider saving items for the sale. Donations will be accepted starting Friday, May 15, with additional drop-off details to follow.
DONATIONS WELCOME:
Household items, kitchenware, décor, small appliances, good books, records, and upscale clothing.
All items should be clean and in good working order.
Please note: no furniture or shoes. Jewellery should be saved for the Christmas Market.
We also welcome donations of shopping bags for the sale—please drop them off with your items.
BAKING:
Our bake table is always a favourite, so the more the better!

4. St. Thomas Book Club – May 31
You are invited to the next Book Club meeting on Sunday, May 31, held in the Gathering Place following the 10:30 service.
We will be discussing Hildegard of Bingen: The Woman of Her Time by Fiona Maddocks (300 pages). This book explores the life of a remarkable 12th-century German abbess who was declared a saint and Doctor of the Church in 2012 by Pope Benedict XVI.
For this meeting, we will discuss the first nine chapters, with the remainder to be covered in June (date TBD).

5. Stitchers Project – Jean Jacket Donations
The Stitchers are collecting donations of jean jackets for an upcoming “Upcycled Jean Jacket Project.” All sizes welcome: women’s, men’s, and children’s.
Please bring donations on Sunday and give them to Elfrieda Snow or Linda Matchim.
6. Water-Based Painting Sessions
Carolyn Sevigny is offering four sessions of painting exploration using water-based media.
- Thursdays in May
- 5:30–7:00 pm
- No experience needed
These sessions are designed to encourage experimentation and creativity. A materials list and sign-up sheet are posted in the main hall. A $10 donation per session to St. Thomas is suggested. Participants may attend individual sessions or all four.
7. P.A. Day – Spring Adventure

8. St. Thomas Christmas Market 2026
Saturday, November 21, 2026
The Christmas Market will be organized by a coordinating committee, with members each leading a specific table or task. Table leaders will make decisions for their area, helping to maintain the strong tradition of past years while sharing responsibilities more widely.
Current tables include:
- Jewellery
- Knitting/Crocheting
- Sewing
- Christmas Décor
- Bakery
- Café
- Preserves
We welcome additional ideas and volunteers to lead new tables, such as:
- Theme Baskets
- Gift Card Raffle
- Silent Auction
- Candy/Sweets
- Other creative ideas are welcome
Parishioners are invited to donate items to any table.
