Every August, St. Thomas’ hosts a week-long summer camp for children and youth in the Quinte area, and this year was no exception! We were thrilled to welcome 17 kids, ages 6-12, along with high school volunteers who completed their volunteer hours with us.
Our camp offers an affordable experience to ensure that families in need can also participate, with additional funding available for those who require assistance.
This year’s activities were diverse and engaging, including sewing, pottery, collage, tie-dye, no-cook meal prep, a workshop on “Using Your Voice,” and painting. All our instructors are dedicated volunteers from St. Thomas’ Church and the wider community.
The highlight of the week was our art show on the last day, where each camper had the opportunity to present and discuss their artwork. It was a wonderful showcase of creativity and confidence. Our campers enjoyed the snacks and lunches provided by St. Thomas’ Kitchen and had a fantastic time overall.
A heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers, whose enthusiasm made this camp truly special. As a token of our gratitude, we organized a special lunch for all our volunteers who made this event so memorable for our campers and the children and youth ministry. Your dedication and hard work truly made a difference, and this was a small way to say thank you for your incredible support.
We look forward to seeing our campers back soon, whether for another day or week-long camp. Best wishes for a great school year ahead!
