This year, St. Thomas’ will again include a Seder Supper in
our Lenten observances. It will be held on Wed. March 31 @ 6:00 pm. This is a re-enactment
of the "Seder”, a Jewish Passover supper.
"Congregations find this helpful” because:
-it includes intergenerational learning, community building and
celebration;
-older children and adults explore the story in the context
of Jewish tradition and learn about the meal which forms in part the root of
the Christian Eucharist.
Using symbols and teaching in a specific order, people young
and old, re-enact and remember their history and God’s part in it. It is very
likely that Jesus was taking part in Seder, the Jewish Passover supper, the
night before his death.
